Hypnosis is a natural phenomenon which we all pass through at least twice a day, on waking up and falling asleep. It is conscious Hypnosis because you are aware all the time of what is going on around you and are never therefore "out of control". When your body is relaxed your mental awareness is heightened and your subconscious accessible. SIMPLE SUGGESTION hypnosis 1-2 sessions (an audio tape is made at the second session) is used for weight loss, smoking cessation, phobias, bed-wetting, pain relief etc. and works by feeding the sub-conscious to re-program it. ANALYTICAL Hypnotherapy is for more deep-seated problems and requires 8-12 sessions. This process works by subtracting from the sub-conscious (releasing repressed emotion from a traumatic event that the memory has blocked off). A lot of people only require one session but if you do require a second session, an audio tape is made for you to take home.
